Manufacturing Control Module deals with all the aspects of the manufacturing process in the diamond industry. It is most suitable for multi-phase plants with large numbers of employees or for the smaller plant.
It handles all the phases involved in manufacturing diamonds - from purchasing raw material, sorting, sawing, polishing, calculating wages, tracing the flow of stones to and from workers and sub-contractors, at the level of a parcel in a lot, and up to selling the final product.
An invoice may consist of a single lot or multiple lots of diamonds. The manufacturing program is based upon the practical experience of one of the most successful Diamond Business House in India. Fourteen months of intensive research & testing have gone into creating the Diamond Manufacturing Module. Complete flexibility has been built into the system so that any Company using the System can control the process of Imports, Movement, Manufacturing, Inventory both physically and financially of the Diamonds. There are limitless activities that can be managed between the import of roughs and the final product: the polished diamond.
Breaking up a Lot of Diamonds into Sub-Lots:
A single lot of imported rough diamonds may contain stones, which on completion would result in different purities or articles. The manufacturing module makes provisions for creating sub-lots from any lot. Each sub-lot is then treated as a lot. All controls for the management of a lot of diamonds such as approximate costing; processing, tracking and administration are automatically applied. The accuracy is always 100%. Accountability is in-built into the system.
The Approximate Costing (with 98% Accuracy!)
The coup de grace is the approximate costing module. This ingenious module enables the forecast and control over the complete cost of converting a lot of rough diamonds to polished stones. The result: Reducing the art of forecasting & estimation from a selected few to a computer aided reality for all.
A single lot of rough diamonds could be outsourced for manufacturing to multiple factories. There would be numerous movements of these mini-consignments between the importer and the manufacturer before the polished or final product is accepted.
To compound the issue there are couriers or angadia who transport these packets of diamonds to and fro. One complete segment of the manufacturing module manages the couriers; the insurance of the consignment in transit; a tracking system of the stone during transit and more. There is reconciliation at each stage. At all times there is 100% accountability. The module provides total accuracy in what was issued and what is received with provisions for cutting losses & wastage.
